The Miami-Dade Traffic Incident Management (TIM) team has a mission to develop recommendations that will provide a safe, efficient, and appropriate multi-agency response to and removal of traffic incidents in Miami-Dade County through timely and accurate detection and  verification. To fulfill its mission, the Miami-Dade TIM team has a planned and coordinated program process that brings together a number of public and private sector partners including the following entities and services responsible for responding to incidents: • Law enforcement • Emergency management • Fire and rescue • Towing and recovery • Emergency medical services • Hazardous materials contractors • Transportation • Traffic information media • Public safety communications These TIM team members address issues that arise as a result of the diverse institutional functions and individual agency goals. The multi-agency Miami-Dade TIM team meets every other month to provide, discuss, and improve operational services related to traffic incident management. Statistics for six months demonstrated increase from 51% in November 2006 to 100% in April 2007 in events signed. 511 service update noted that telephone call volume and website hits are up steadily. TIM Team self assessment reviewed and overall TIM program score was 74.2%; an improvement over 2006 score of 65.8%. Action items recommended.
