Traveler Information

Traveler information is an important tool in congestion management. Disseminating real-time traffic reports that are accurate and reliable empower motorists to make informed decisions along their travels, helping them avoid delays that contribute to roadway congestion.

District Six is committed to operating the systems that provide motorists with this service. By populating the data and camera images generated through ITS technologies, operational staff posts traffic reports onto the 511 Traveler Information System and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) to help drivers learn about upcoming traffic delays, alternate route information and travel times. District Six coordinates with regional transportation and media partner agencies to ensure seamless dissemination of traffic information 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

The combination of all these services along with continuous enhancements to program procedures is helping to improve the mobility and safety of our transportation system.
