Travel Safely this Holiday Season
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six would like to remind you to make use of its many traffic management services during this holiday travel season.
Calling 5-1-1 before beginning your trip can help save you time and money as you make your way through our roadways. The 511 Traveler Information System informs you of real-time traffic conditions to help plan your trip in advance and avoid costly travel-time delays. In addition, the FDOT also provides motorist assistance and incident management services through several of its programs, including the Road Ranger Service Patrol. If you need roadside assistance or become stranded while on the road, simply dial *3-4-7 from your mobile phone and a Road Ranger will be dispatched to assist you. Road Rangers are specially trained and equipped to help stranded motorists get back on the road, and are positioned along strategic places on the highway for faster response times.
The services provided by the FDOT are designed to work together to reduce congestion and improve the reliability of our highway system. They are managed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week by operations staff at the Transportation Management Center (TMC).
