District Six Wins Prestigious ITS Florida Member of the Year Award!

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Office recently won the 2009 ITS Florida Organizational Member of the Year Award.

The award recognizes members who have significantly improved Florida’s transportation system in the past year and was presented to the team in recognition for their work on the 95 Express and Ramp Signaling Systems. The team was selected amongst seven other candidates statewide, for their innovative use of ITS technologies to improve mobility along Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County. District Six deployed Phase 1A of the 95 Express Project in December 2008 and has advanced Florida’s ITS Program mission to provide better, more reliable transportation options for the motoring public of our region.
