511 Posters Now Displayed on Miami-Dade Transit Buses
The 511 Traveler Information System has partnered with the Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) Agency to promote its services along more than 100 public buses, countywide!
Promotional signs with 511 service information were placed on agency buses as part of an on-going public service announcement (PSA) campaign to raise program awareness and increase system usage. The partnership was an easy fit. In addition to its real-time traffic information services, the 511 system also offers users the option to transfer out to partner agencies for assistance on all their traveler-related needs. By calling 5-1-1, (or logging on to www.fl511.com), users can transfer to the agency of their choice, including their local transit, airport, seaport and parking authorities.
The signs will be displayed for at least six months throughout the transit buses in Miami-Dade County, and a similar marketing initiative is planned with Key West Transit.
The transfer option feature is one of the many ways 511 is helping users get traveler information easier and faster. It is not only providing users with a more complete traveler information system, but it is also giving our partners an added venue to connect to customers and improving the overall transportation network in Miami-Dade County and throughout the State of Florida.
