FSITE’s John W. Barr District 10 Transportation Achievement Award (2009)

FDOT District Six won the 2009 John W. Barr award for successfully executing the 95 Express project: Florida's first-ever High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes project. The Florida Section Institute of Transportation Engineers (FSITE) presented the award to District Six in June 2010.

ITS America’s Best Innovative Product 2010

The District Six ITS Office won the Best of Innovative Product of the Year Award for their role in operating Phase 1A of the 95 Express Plan. It was dedicated by the Intelligent Transportation Society of America in their annual convention held in Houston, Texas in May 2009.

Davis Productivity Team Award

The Florida Department of Transportation District Six won a Davis Productivity Team Award for developing and implementing a dynamic toll pricing system to manage the 95 Express. It was presented by Florida TaxWatch in March 2010.

Davis Productivity Team Award

The District Six ITS Office won a Davis Productivity Team Award for creating the Road Ranger Driver Information System (RRDIS), which increases operational productivity by automating the tracking of Road Ranger contract management requirements. It was presented by Florida TaxWatch in March 2010.

Davis Productivity Individual Award

The District Six ITS Office won an Individual Davis Productivity Award for developing the "511 Watcher," a software application that helped improve the information provided by the 511 Traveler Information System. It was presented by the Florida TaxWatch in March 2010.

ITS Florida’s Organizational Member of the Year Award

The District Six ITS Office won the Organizational Member of the Year Award for their role in Phase 1A of the 95 Express congestion management plan that also includes Ramp Signaling. It was dedicated by ITS Florida in December 2009.

People’s Choice Award for America’s Best Transportation Project

The Florida Department of Transportation Office was presented with the People's Choice Award for America's Best Transportation Project for the 95 Express Project. The award was voted by the American public in an on-line competition and was dedicated by the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHTO) in October 2009.

American Heart Association Sponsor Award

The Florida Department of Transportation District Six ITS Office was recognized for sponsoring and participating in the 2009, American Heart Association's Miami-Dade Start! Heart Walk. The award was present by the American Heart Association in October 2009.

AASHTO’s America’s Best Transportation Project

The Florida Department of Transportation District Six Office won America's Best Transportation Project in the Innovative Management category for their role in deploying Phase 1A of the 95 Express Project. The regional award was dedicated by the southern division of the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHTO) in September 2009.

ACEC’s Engineering Excellence Award

The Florida of Transportation District Six won the Excellence in Engineering Award Competition for the 95 Express Microsimulation. The award was presented by Reynold, Smith and Hills, Inc in April 2009.

ITS Florida’s Outstanding Achievement Award

The District Six ITS Office was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of the their role in implementing the Consumer Information Network (CIN) in the South Florida region. The award was dedicated to the ITS Office by ITS Florida in December 2005.

ITS Florida’s Organizational Member of the Year

The District Six ITS Office was awarded the Organizational Member of the Year Award for the development and deployment of the SunGuide Transportation Management Center. The award was dedicated to the ITS Office by ITS Florida in June 2004.
