Florida's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) reduces accidents, incident response times and travel times. Its services increase travel speeds and transit on-time performance. Other benefits include reduced emissions, toll collection savings, enhanced safety and lower operating costs per transit vehicle mile.
ITS' main functions include incident management (primarily avoiding secondary accidents), traveler information (511), and traffic management.
