South Florida 511 First in U.S. to Recognize Both English and Spanish
South Florida boasts the first 511 traveler information system in the United States that recognizes and responds to callers' natural speech in both English and Spanish.
The expanded speech-enabled 511 service allows callers in both languages to hear travel information including real-time road conditions, estimated travel times, emergency messages and traffic accident information.
"Florida leads the nation in 511 innovations and we are proud to offer a full Spanish 511 service," said Jesus Martinez, ITS Administrator, FDOT District VI.
